This round of Mayor’s Cycling Awards will celebrate the active and sustainable travel achievements of participants in the 50-Day Workplace Challenger, as recorded by the Better Points app, and also the first phase of the MK Schools Cycling Challenge 2022-23 (awards and prizes below).
This event will be hosted by Network Rail at The Quadrant, Elder Gate, CMK, MK9 1EN (cycle and car parking details below). The event will have a similar format to the breakfast hosted by Willen Hospice in CMK earlier this year (see story).
Running order:

- 8.15 – Watch film about cycling in MK by MK Grid Spinners
- 8.30 – Start – Welcome from Chair Deborah Cooper, MK Cycle Forum; Jo Lewington, Chief Environment & Sustainability Officer, Network Rail, and Steve Bassington, Workplace Manager, Network Rail – celebration of new visitor bike racks outside
- 8.35 – Introduction from Cllr Zoe Nolan, Cabinet member for Children and Families, MK Council – Why cycling is good for MK
- 8.40 – Recent MK cycling achievements including video of City Status Cycle Ride 14.7.22 – Ian Revell, MK Community Foundation
- 8.50 – Mayor’s awards – presented by Mayor Amanda Marlow
- Top Cycling School (most bicycles at school one day) – 1st place, Walton High (227), certificate to be collected by Chris Brittain
- Top Cycling School (most bicycles at one school per 100 pupils) – 1st place, Watling Academy (10.71), certificate to be collected by Ian Bacon
- Top Cycling Company (most cycling activities & miles cycled) – 1st place, Gemini Rail Services (285 & 3793) – Free Dr. Bike Repair Day, to be collected by David Smith
- Top Cycling Company (most cycling activities & miles cycled) – 2nd place, The Open University (208 & 1074) – certificate to be collected by Jodi Houghton
- Top Cycling Company (most cycling activities per employee) – ICAEW (35.2) – certificate to be collected by Liz Tribe

Parking: cycle parking in racks newly installed outside main entrance; car parking in Pay and display parking around the QMK building, which can be paid for via the Ring Go App.
