Schools Cycling Challenge 2022-23

Following the success of school cycling competitions and other activities in September 2021, December 2021, April 2022 and July 2022, MK secondary schools are invited to participate in the following activities during school year 2022-23 (primary schools are doing Bikeability Olympics):

  • Cycle Promotion Assemblies – 10-20 mins interactive presentation of cycling facts, safety tips and encouragement to ride – contact cyclingmk@citizensuk.org to book a date
  • Inter-Schools Cycle Competition – details below
  • Mayor’s Cycling Awards, Cycling Breakfasts and Celebration Rides in CMK – see calendar of events

MK Inter-schools Competition

Mayor’s Cycling Awards will be presented for the following achievements:

  • Number of students and staff participating in annual survey (November 2022) – you can view all results so far here.
  • Number of bicycles parked on school premises between 9am and 3pm on: Thursday 22nd September 2022, Thursday 17th November 2022, Thursday 9th March 2023, Thursday 11th May 2023. The count will be undertaken by a member of staff nominated School Cycling Champion (supported by our Cycling Organiser if requested).
  • Number of cycling promotion initiatives undertaken by the school, from the list below.
