Following the success of school cycling competitions and other activities in September 2021, April 2022, July 2022 and July 2023, MK secondary schools are invited to participate in the following activities during school year 2023-24 (primary schools are doing Bikeability Olympics):
- Cycle Promotion Assemblies – 10-20 mins interactive presentation of cycling facts, safety tips and encouragement to ride – contact cyclingmk@citizensuk.org to book a date

- Mayor’s Cycling Awards and Celebration Rides in CMK – see calendar of events
MK Inter-schools Competition
Mayor’s Cycling Awards will be presented for the following achievements:
- Number of students participating in annual survey (November 2023).
- Number of bicycles parked on school premises on Thursday 16th November 2023, Thursday 7th March 2024, Thursday 9th May 2024. The count will be undertaken by a member of staff nominated School Cycling Champion (supported by our Cycling Organiser if requested).
- Number of cycling promotion initiatives undertaken by the school, from the list below
- % participation in Modeshift Stars survey (see table below).
